About me.

I have been a pianist, organist,  accompanist and teacher for 30 years.

I started my career in South Wales under the tutorship of Professor Russell Brandon and organ tutorship of Philip Evans, Head of Music at Llandaff Cathedral School. Accompanying a variety of theatre companies, and soloists, I moved to Cornwall in 1998 and was then taught by Paul Comeau. I attended Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, attaining a degree in music and piano, before qualifying with a PGCE from Rolle College.

For over 20 years, I have taught and led music in secondary's schools in Devon and Cornwall, whilst also bringing up my young family. I continue to perform, accompany, and teach piano lessons to all ages, from beginner to advance, across a variety of music genres, and also theory.

  • Dot has been teaching me for 9 years. Every lesson is very enjoyable. The experience is outstanding, I have learnt so much. I always look forward to my lessons. Dot is an incredibly talented pianist. I feel grateful to be having lessons with Dot and playing her beautiful grand piano.

  • Dot has accompanied me throughout my time at College - both for my GCSE music recital and for my various grade exams right through to grade 8. She has always been not only proficient and adaptable in her playing, but exceptionally supportive and encouraging in the lead up to my respective exams or performances, showing extreme commitment and flexibility, and always finding time to fit in rehearsals in amongst a busy schedule. Dot is very easy to work with as a performer, revising support when it is required, but also responding to the player's own interpretation and chosen direction for a piece. Above all, she is simply a pleasure to be accompanied by, and the enthusiasm and energy with which she approaches her work is infectious.

  • Dot played at our wedding and really was ‘the icing on the cake’ to have a professional pianist play your favourite romantic music on your special day really does add an extra dimension, yes, we could have just had a CD player playing in the background, but having Dot play added so much more, but playing ability apart, which I am sure is concert pianist standard, Dot’s personality also suited the occasion perfectly.

  • Dot is, far and away, the best piano teacher I ever had she listened to what I wanted to play and helped me even on the first day. To play pieces I never thought I would. She super adaptable-no matter the genre, from modern classical to ‘90s rock, she has never made me feel I couldn’t (or shouldn’t) play something. She made me feel comfortable from day one, and my lessons with her were the highlight of my week.
